https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starvation_(computer_science)
In computer science, starvation is a problem encountered in concurrent computing where a process is perpetually denied necessary resources to process its work.[1]
Starvation may be caused by errors in a scheduling or mutual exclusion algorithm, but can also be caused by resource leaks, and can be intentionally caused via a denial-of-service attack such as a fork bomb.
The impossibility of starvation in a concurrent algorithm is called starvation-freedom, lockout-freedom[2] or finite bypass,[3] is an instance of liveness, and is one of the two requirements for any mutual exclusion algorithm (the other being correctness).
The name "finite bypass" means that any process (concurrent part) of the algorithm is bypassed at most a finite number times before being allowed access to the shared resource.

LISTADE DYGDER

https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dygd

Vilka dygder fattas i listan?

"Critically, the researchers showed not only that super-agers had no shrinkage in these brain networks but also that the size of these regions was correlated with memory ability. One of the strongest correlations between brain size and memory was found in an area at the intersection of the salience and default mode networks. Previous research has shown that this region - the para-midcingulate cortex - is an important hub that allows different brain networks to communicate efficiently."

"Most children will learn to read between kindergarten and 2nd grade, but only when someone — a teacher, parent, grandparent, or older friend — teaches them how to do it.

Even if you begin reading aloud to your baby during pregnancy and don't miss a day from birth to age 5, your child will still need to learn how to decode the printed page. The majority of children will pass through several important stages on their way to becoming good readers — that is, able to gain meaning and understanding from the printed page.

You should monitor your child's passage through these various stages to make sure he's on schedule. Most preschoolers are in the prereading stage. Readers in this stage of development should be able to repeat materials that have been read to them over and over, particularly if the books are predictable and contain lots of rhyming words.

Although children at this stage are not really reading in the sense of identifying words on the page, they do engage in "pretend reading" because they understand that books have meaning. They also know that groups of letters written on a page stand for words.

Once your child is in kindergarten, he should learn to hear the differences between the various sounds that letters make. This ability is an important prerequisite to learning to read, and without it, even the best phonics instruction can fail.

In 1st grade, your child should move into the decoding stage, where children begin to associate letters with sounds and spoken words with printed ones. Because children at this stage are still in the process of learning to sound out words, they are able to read only a fraction of the words whose meanings they can understand orally.

As your child becomes less and less dependent on having to painstakingly sound out each word, he will be able to focus more of his attention on the meaning of what he has read and can begin to tackle increasingly difficult books on his own."

religion (n.)

"... According to Cicero derived from relegere "go through again" (in reading or in thought), from re- "again" (see re-) + legere "read" (see lecture (n.)). However, popular etymology among the later ancients (Servius, Lactantius, Augustine) and the interpretation of many modern writers connects it with religare "to bind fast" (see rely), via notion of "place an obligation on," or "bond between humans and gods." In that case, the re- would be intensive. Another possible origin is religiens "careful," opposite of negligens. In English, meaning "particular system of faith" is recorded from c. 1300; sense of "recognition of and allegiance in manner of life (perceived as justly due) to a higher, unseen power or powers" is from 1530s.

To hold, therefore, that there is no difference in matters of religion between forms that are unlike each other, and even contrary to each other, most clearly leads in the end to the rejection of all religion in both theory and practice. And this is the same thing as atheism, however it may differ from it in name. [Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, 1885]"

Everyone Is God
"The key idea being proposed here is that the root cause of the major problems of this world lies in the realm of ideas and with what people believe... "If you can solve the riddle of Consciousness for Atheists and show that it is Consciousness that the likes of Jesus, Muhammad and Buddha were going on about all along then you can show them the Truth about God . You demonstrate to them that Consciousness is not just some epiphenomena of the brain but rather the Ground and Substrate upon which the brain and the entire physical Universe has its manifest existence."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speculations_about_Mona_Lisa
The portrait of Mona (short for 'Madonna') Lisa was commissioned by her husband Francesco di Bartolomeo di Zanobi del Giocondo. Neither poor nor among the most well-to-do in Florence, the couple lived a middle-class life. They lived in shared accommodation until Francesco was able to buy a house. Leonardo is thought to have begun painting Lisa's portrait the same year.
The large painting fulfilled the requirements for portraying a fashionable woman of virtue.
Leonardo da Vinci was not paid for the work and did not deliver it to his client. The artist's paintings traveled with him throughout his life, and he may have completed the portrait many years later.
Decades afterwards the portrait got the Italian name La Gioconda that is the feminine form of her married name. Though derived from Lisa's married name it also derives from the word for "happy" (in English, "jocund").

"The exact origin of the Infant Jesus statue is not known, but historical sources point to a small 19 inch (48 cm) high sculpture of the Holy Child with a bird in his right hand presently located in the Cistercian monastery of Santa María de la Valbonna in Asturias, Spain which was carved around the year 1340. Many other Infant Jesus sculptures were also carved by famous masters throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. Russian families enjoyed Mignon eggs for Easter. Its distinctive features are a filling of almond-hazelnut nougat inside a real eggshell. The Fazer Mignon dates back to 1896 when Karl Fazer brought the recipe from Germany.
Mignon eggs are handmade at the Fazer factory in Vantaa.

In the Eastern Orthodox Church and Byzantine Rite Catholic Churches, Easter Monday is called "Bright Monday" or "Renewal Monday"and starts the "Bright Week". In Sweden it is called "White Week" (Vita Veckan)
Formerly, the post-Easter festivities involved a week of celebration, but in many places this was reduced to one day in the 19th century. Events include egg rolling competitions and, in predominantly Roman Catholic countries, dousing other people with water which traditionally had been blessed with holy water the day before at Easter Sunday Mass and carried home to bless the house and food.
In Egypt, the ancient festival of Sham El Nessim (Arabic: شم النسيم‎, literally meaning "smelling of the breeze") is celebrated on the Coptic (i.e. Eastern) Easter Monday, though the festival dates back to Pharonic times (about 2700 BC). It is celebrated by both Egyptian Christians and Muslims as an Egyptian national holiday rather than as a religious one. Traditional activities include painting eggs, taking meals outdoors...
In Guyana, people fly kites, which are made on Holy Saturday.
In Leicestershire, England the people of Hallaton hold a bottle-kicking match and Hare Pie Scramble.
In the Netherlands, people eat a festive breakfast and go hiking or cycling in the countryside.
It is celebrated in Coastal Northern Portugal as the Anjo Festival (Angel Festival) where people go to the countryside and woodlands to picnic and party, it also includes a reminder of pagan beliefs, in which the Hedera helix ivy is especially regarded.
In Italy Easter Monday is celebrated as Pasquetta where people have picnics in the countryside.
In some United States In some states and districts, public schools and universities are closed on Easter Monday, often part of spring break.
In Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic traditionally, early in the morning boys awake girls by pouring a bucket of water on their head :(

"A Sarashi or a Hara Obi (Sarashi means bleached cloth (and is also used as cheesecloth) and Hara Obi means "stomach belt/sash) is a long cotton cloth about 10'' wide and several feet long that you repeatedly wrap around your belly. In pregnancy you wrap it in a way that is looser at top and tighter at the bottom which holds the belly up without a binding effect. It helps alleviate back pain and prevent stretch marks. In the post pregnancy months you wrap it tight equally from top to bottom which will help with healing.  In Japan they have been used for thousands of years.

Scheduling in pulp mills
The pulp process involves many production stages, usually coupled with intermediate storage tanks. As each stage has a different reliability and bottlenecks may vary from day to day, scheduling a pulp mill needs to take into account these bottlenecks and the probability of a disturbance or breakdown. Each stage also may have different decision variables, such as steam / water / chemical input, etc.

"Religion from O.Fr. religion "religious community," from L. religionem (nom. religio)

"respect for what is sacred, reverence for the gods,"
"obligation, the bond between man and the gods"

is derived from the Latin religiō, the ultimate origins of which are obscure.
One possibility is an interpretation traced to Cicero,
connecting lego "read", i.e. re (again) + lego in the sense of

"choose", "go over again" or "consider carefully".

Modern scholars such as Tom Harpur and Joseph Campbell favor the derivation from ligare
"bind, connect", probably from a prefixed re-ligare, i.e. re (again) + ligare or

"to reconnect,""

"Aluminium (or aluminum; see spelling differences) is a chemical element in the boron group with symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery-white, soft, nonmagnetic, ductile metal. Aluminium is the third most abundant element (after oxygen and silicon), and the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust. It makes up about 8% by weight of the crust, though it is less common in the mantle below. Aluminium metal is so chemically reactive that native specimens are rare and limited to extreme reducing environments. Instead, it is found combined in over 270 different minerals. The chief ore of aluminium is bauxite.
Aluminium is remarkable for the metal's low density and for its ability to resist corrosion due to the phenomenon of passivation. Structural components made from aluminium and its alloys are vital to the aerospace industry and are important in other areas of transportation and structural materials. The most useful compounds of aluminium, at least on a weight basis, are the oxides and sulfates.
Despite its prevalence in the environment, no known form of life uses aluminium salts metabolically. In keeping with its pervasiveness, aluminium is well tolerated by plants and animals. Owing to their prevalence, potential beneficial (or otherwise) biological roles of aluminium compounds are of continuing interest." Wikipedia
