Russian families enjoyed Mignon eggs for Easter. Its distinctive features are a filling of almond-hazelnut nougat inside
a real eggshell. The Fazer Mignon dates back to 1896 when Karl Fazer brought the recipe from Germany.
Mignon eggs are handmade at the Fazer factory in Vantaa.
In the Eastern Orthodox Church and Byzantine Rite Catholic Churches, Easter Monday is called "Bright Monday" or "Renewal Monday"and starts the "Bright Week". In Sweden it is called "White Week" (Vita Veckan)
Formerly, the post-Easter festivities involved a week of celebration, but in many places this was reduced to one day in the 19th century. In Italy Easter Monday is celebrated as Pasquetta where people have picnics in the countryside.
In some United States In some states and districts, public schools and universities are closed on Easter Monday, often part of spring break.
In Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic traditionally, early in the morning boys awake girls by pouring a bucket of water on their head :(
